‘Noise’ Noh Young-jin endured the long wait and became King after passing through King Slayer.

BNK PeerX Noh ‘Noise’ Young-jin was crowned the 2026 FSL Spring Champion. Anyone who remembers Noh Young-jin from a year ago will know how unfamiliar this win is.

In the 2025 FSL Spring, he finished the tournament without a single win. In the summer, they suffered an upset loss in the final match to the opponent they had beaten in the first match and collapsed at the threshold of the round of 16. It wasn’t because I didn’t have talent. The stage swallowed him up. My hands stiffened at every important moment, and I let the flow I had created flow on my own. He was rarely allowed to use the space called FSL.

But this final was different. Noh Young-jin won the first set after a fierce battle against ‘Wonder08’ Go Won-jae in the 2026 FSL Spring Finals. After a close game that went into overtime, Noh Young-jin scored a comeback goal from Van Basten to make it 3-2. Noh Young-jin lost the second set 5 to 6 after a fierce battle in which 11 goals were scored, but in the third set, he defended Gullit’s corner kick opening goal until the end and won 1 to 0, taking the lead with a set score of 2 to 1.

And in the fourth set, Noh Young-jin became a completely different player. Gullit and Rijkaard hit the net one after another, and the defense was in place at every corner where Go Won-jae tried to catch the ball. Noh Young-jin is 6 to 1. He won the 4th set with a score that shook his opponent’s mentality.

The final 5 sets were also close, but the winning goal was scored in the 85th minute of the second half when a ball deflected by the defense was connected to Noh Young-jin’s Bellingham. Noh Young-jin played the remaining time thoroughly and closed the game with a score of 3-2. Noh Young-jin was crowned the 2026 FSL champion with a final set score of 4-1.

What has changed?

Noh Young-jin himself cited his match against ‘Kwak’ Jun-hyeok as a turning point this season. He said that the experience of overturning the 5th set, which had been tied 1-3, to 6-3, became the foundation for his unwavering confidence in any subsequent match. There are cases where one small reversal changes a player’s inner self. It’s not because your skills are improving, but when you confirm with your own body that you can do it. It appears that the game was such a moment for Noh Young-jin.

What he showed in the final was not just skill. By analyzing Ko Won-jae’s build-up pattern, he induced mistakes by pressing forward, and in the draft, he did not miss the moment when the opponent chose Ronaldo instead of Gullit, and took Gullit and Ronaldo first.

In addition, even with a set piece, the team figured out the height composition of the opposing defense in advance and prepared a strategy to utilize the tall Gullit and Stam. It was truly a final that showed what kind of performance a well-prepared player plays when he does not waver on stage.

As the team name BNK PeerX suggests, Noh Young-jin overcame that fear. It may sound like a grandiose statement, but if you actually look at the year he has walked, it is not an empty lie, and the player who was afraid of the stage has become a player who dominates the stage.

And that change did not come overnight. What followed was three months of training camp, feedback from the coaches, and time spent with teammate ‘Light’ Kim Seon-jae, who perfectly replicated Go Won-jae’s play style and claimed to be his practice partner.

In sports, comebacks can easily be portrayed as dramas. However, Noh Young-jin’s one year is simpler than the drama. I failed, I persevered, I prepared, and I won. And we know that that simple process is the most difficult.

The player who defeated kings became king. He said his next goal was the international stage. From now on, it will be more interesting to see how far a player who has given up fear will go.
