During Gamescom 2026 Opening Night Live, MBC Game Studio unveiled its first title, ‘1001 Threads of Mizan,’ on August 31.
Set in a fantasy world inspired by One Thousand and One Nights and Arabian folklore, ‘1001 Threads of Mizan’ is an action-adventure game. It focuses on exploration, epic boss battles, and cooperative gameplay, with plans for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
The game’s narrative kicks off as Shahrazad, the legendary storyweaver, summons three heroes – Yusra, Malik, and Sufyan. Together, they embark on a quest to restore the lost power of the Mizan and prevent ancient vengeful jinn from wreaking havoc on humanity.
Key features of the game include traversal and combat using flying carpets. Players can seamlessly transition between land and sky, engaging in combat and advancing the story while airborne.
Supporting up to three players, cooperative play allows for a drop-in/drop-out system that enables seamless joining and exiting during gameplay. Players can team up on flying carpets to face colossal jinn in aerial showdowns.
CEO of MBC Game Studio, Daniel Engelhardt, expressed, “With fast-paced traversal across land and sky, battles against massive jinn, and immersive exploration, we aimed to capture the essence of these timeless tales, offering players a chance to embark on a heroic journey with friends.”
At Gamescom 2026, MBC Game Studio also presented a pre-alpha demo to attendees, media, and content creators. The demo featured cooperative gameplay, aerial combat on flying carpets, and a boss battle against Nazjush.
