In the latest update for VALORANT’s 2026 Season Act 2, Riot Games has introduced a new Controller agent named Miks and a limited-time mode called Elimination. This update focuses on enhancing team dynamics, with Miks specializing in support abilities and Elimination requiring coordinated gameplay for success.
Miks is the 29th agent in VALORANT and is designed to manipulate sound energy to influence gameplay. With a music-themed kit, Miks aims to help teammates control space and maintain pressure during engagements. The agent’s abilities include Waveform for creating smokes strategically, Harmony for providing combat stim effects, and M-Wave for offering either crowd control or healing effects based on the situation. Miks’ ultimate, Resonating Bass, disrupts opponents by impairing their hearing with a powerful soundwave.
Unlike traditional Controllers in VALORANT, Miks focuses more on empowering teammates rather than denying space. This unique approach could make Miks a standout choice for both ranked and professional play, offering a blend of utility, buffs, and disruption.

The newly introduced Elimination mode offers a team-based, round-based experience reminiscent of team deathmatch gameplay. Teams must secure four rounds by eliminating the opposing side completely. The mode’s unique respawn system requires players to rely on their teammates to return to the game, promoting teamwork and strategic engagements.
Elimination mode added as team-based limited-time experience
In addition to the new agent, Riot Games has also introduced the Elimination mode, offering a fresh take on team deathmatch action in a round-based format.
The mode’s emphasis on coordinated play and strategic respawning adds a new layer of depth to traditional team deathmatch gameplay, encouraging players to work together for victory.
As the matches progress, the respawn timers increase, leading to intense gameplay moments where survival, timing, and teamwork are crucial for success. The mode strikes a balance between fast-paced action and tactical gameplay, staying true to VALORANT’s core identity.
Act 2 battle pass and PC bang event also launched
Aside from the gameplay updates, Riot Games has introduced a new battle pass featuring exclusive cosmetics such as the Blackthorn Collection, Soulburst Bandit, Yongmun Phantom, and the Light Hands card.
Furthermore, the PC bang-exclusive ‘VAL Pieces’ event has returned for Act 2, offering players a chance to earn rewards by participating in gameplay sessions at designated PC bang locations. This event aims to engage players regionally and promote community play experiences.

VALORANT continues to be a prominent title in Riot Games’ esports portfolio, with a thriving competitive scene across different regions. The game’s constant evolution and expansion, coupled with global events like Masters and Champions, solidify its position as a top-tier competitive game.
