On the last day of the VALORANT Masters London 2026 event, Riot Games revealed several exciting additions that will be coming to VALORANT in the near future. The biggest highlights included the introduction of a new map called Summit, the unveiling of a new 3v3 game mode known as Retake, and the confirmation of Act 4, promising fresh content and gameplay updates for players of the tactical shooter. These announcements were made during the Masters London Grand Finals broadcast, marking a significant moment for the VALORANT community.

New VALORANT map Summit officially unveiled

The major reveal was Summit, the latest addition to the VALORANT map pool. Set in a mountain facility high above the clouds, Summit boasts a unique vertical layout that aims to provide new strategic possibilities for both attackers and defenders.

Riot Games stated that Summit focuses on swift rotations and multiple pathways between key areas. With elevated sightlines and interconnected routes, teams will be encouraged to explore various tactics on the map. Summit was also showcased in a special showmatch at Masters London, giving fans a preview of the map in action.

Summit will be accessible at the beginning of Act 4 and is anticipated to have a significant impact on the evolving competitive landscape of VALORANT.

VALORANT Retake: Introduction to the new 3v3 game mode

Retake, a new permanent 3v3 game mode, was also introduced by Riot Games to provide players with shorter, action-packed matches.

Unlike traditional VALORANT matches, Retake begins with the Spike already planted. One team defends the site while the other team tries to retake it before time runs out. Players are given preset loadouts, enabling them to jump straight into combat without the need to manage their economy.

This mode is designed to offer fast-paced matches that emphasize gunplay, utility usage, and decision-making in post-plant scenarios. Retake aims to provide players with an alternative way to practice crucial late-round situations in a more casual setting compared to ranked matches.

The addition of Retake expands the range of game modes available in VALORANT, giving players more options beyond Competitive, Unrated, Swiftplay, Team Deathmatch, and Premier.

VALORANT Act 4 release date and content

Alongside the new map and game mode, Riot Games confirmed the upcoming launch of VALORANT Act 4.

Act 4 will introduce Summit, introduce the Retake mode, and offer a new Battle Pass filled with cosmetic rewards. Players can also look forward to additional balance tweaks, quality-of-life enhancements, and future content updates throughout the Act.
