The Worlds 2026 Swiss Stage kicks off on October 23, with eight exciting best-of-one matches setting the stage for the 16-team competition. Each win puts a team at 1-0, while a loss drops them to 0-1; three wins secure a spot in the Knockout Stage, while three losses mean the end of the tournament journey.
Following the conclusion of the Play-In round, all teams are ready for Round 1 matchups that span regions, offering each team a chance to start with a 3-0 record or face the challenge of coming back from 0-1.
The diverse lineup of 16 teams from different regions will face off in the tournament, with teams drawn from separate pools to kickstart the competition. The matchups are now set, and the Play-In results that finalized the lineup are available for review.
Eight openers, eight chances to set the tone
Gen.G will take on Invictus Gaming, while Team Liquid Alienware goes head-to-head with CTBC Flying Oyster. Other matchups include Anyone’s Legend against Karmine Corp, G2 Esports facing Dplus KIA, and Hanwha Life Esports clashing with Top Esports.
The remaining matchups feature LØS versus T1, Team Secret Whales against LYON, and Bilibili Gaming taking on Movistar KOI. Teams from the same region will not face each other in the first round, with pairings determined by the four pools.
The initial matches will set the tone for the tournament, with all teams starting on an equal footing. A win will give each team a 1-0 record, while a loss will put them at 0-1, with more matches to follow before reaching the crucial Swiss Stage thresholds.
The next draw follows the records
Following the initial results, teams will be grouped based on their records, with 1-0 teams facing off and 0-1 teams doing the same. Starting from Round 2, matches that could lead to qualification or elimination will be best-of-three, while others remain best-of-one.
The exact schedule has yet to be confirmed, but the tournament is set to begin on October 23. The outcomes of the first matches will determine the matchups for Round 2, shaping the rest of the competition.
