Riot Games recently announced the upcoming launch of Teamfight Tactics’ 17th set, Space Gods. Scheduled for release on April 15th for PC and mobile platforms, the update first hit the game’s Public Beta Environment (PBE) on March 31st.
Space Gods will introduce a sci-fi and fantasy theme, focusing on champions vying for the favor of various deities, each offering unique gameplay advantages. This will mark TFT’s 17th set, arriving with patch 17.1.
A significant change in this set is the introduction of the Realm of the Gods mechanic, which replaces the traditional carousel system. Instead of choosing from a shared pool, players will now select offerings from two randomly selected Gods, with repeated alignment towards one God granting special benefits later in the game.
Notable Gods in the set include Soraka, Yasuo, Ahri, Thresh, Kayle, Varus, Evelynn, Ekko, and Aurelion Sol, each reimagined as rulers with their own blessings. These blessings range from health and economy boosts to unique risk-reward mechanics and item-related advantages.
Space Gods also introduces a new roster of champions, traits, and summons. Popular units like Master Yi, Pyke, and Maokai will return, while Fiora, Shen, Vex, Graves, and Blitzcrank will debut as five-cost champions. Additionally, exclusive elements such as the summon duo Bia and Bayin, along with Primordian Swarmlings, will be included.
New traits like Meeple, Anima, Dark Star, Stargazer, Mecha, and Fateweaver are highlighted in this set, offering diverse strategic options ranging from summoning additional units to transforming champions and altering board hexes with constellation-based effects.
Approximately 40 new Augments, including eight Hero Augments providing champions with alternate abilities, will be featured in the set. One notable augment allows access to Zed as an infinite-cloning five-cost champion. Cosmetic additions like Chibi Battle Bat Xayah, Chibi Star Guardian Syndra, and others will also accompany the update.
Noemi Coute, Set Design Lead at Riot Games, expressed excitement for the collaboration between the Art, Design, and UX teams in creating Space Gods: “Space Gods intertwines the sci-fi and fantasy genres, offering players a unique experience with the Realm of the Gods mechanic.”
This release marks the first set launch for TFT in 2026, continuing Riot’s trend of three major set updates per year for the autobattler genre. The full Space Gods overview was published on March 30th, following a Dev Drop reveal on March 28th and a set cinematic released on March 27th.
