Valor Mortis is the upcoming title from One More Level, known for their work on the fast-paced cyberpunk sci-fi action platformer Ghostrunner. Unveiled at Gamescom 2025, it immediately caught the attention of critics like Wccftech’s Francesco De Meo, who praised it as one of the standout games of the event. Now, as we draw closer to its launch, One More Level has announced a new release window for Fall 2026.

This announcement was made during the Triple-I Initiative Showcase 2026, where a new gameplay trailer was revealed, showcasing enhanced parkour elements, fresh combat mechanics, and an overall glimpse into the adrenaline-pumping action that awaits players.

Following the showcase trailer, the studio provided a detailed developer insight, delving deeper into the features highlighted in the trailer and confirming key milestones in the game’s development process.

Notably, the game has now reached the stage of being content complete, with the team currently fine-tuning its alpha version. With Valor Mortis reaching the final stages of development, anticipation is high for the Fall 2026 release window to solidify into an official launch date. This progress was reaffirmed by the studio on the game’s Steam page, stating that this update “marks our sprint to the final stretch of development.”

There’s still a lot to do as we push towards launch in Fall 2026! Since Ghostrunner 2, we have been working very hard to craft Valor Mortis as the biggest game our studio has ever made. We know that we’ll need to prove ourselves. We don’t think anyone has mixed first-person perspective and the soulslike genre in this way before. So far, we’ve already used lots of your feedback from the original playtest but we will be looking for more people to try the game soon.”
