Gen.G Esports’ Duro’ Joo Min-gyu, who defeated Jingdong Gaming in the first stand, expressed confidence in advancing to the finals.

Gen.G won 3-0 against JD Gaming, the second seed in the LPL, in the First Stand Group Stage Group B match held at Riot Games Sao Paulo in Sao Paulo, Brazil on the 17th (Korean time).

In an interview after the game, Joo Min-gyu expressed his feelings about the victory, saying, “It feels good to finish quickly with a score of 3-0. (Regarding the fact that many teams choose Gen.G as a candidate for the championship) I think all other teams are also good, so we should not be the only ones to choose.”

When asked about the pressure of winning, he said, “I don’t feel any pressure. I feel good because there is a lot of attention.” Regarding the bottom battle with Jingdong, he explained, “The opponents ‘Gala’ and ‘Vampire’ had better skill shots than I expected. I made a mistake in the beginning, but I was very surprised at how good they were at skill shots.”

When asked about playing in Brazil, Joo Min-gyu said, “I’m adjusting well to the conditions. I played in the stadium, and my ears were tearing. I was surprised about that. Of course, I think we can make it to the finals. There are many games to come, and I’ll prepare well. I’ll be able to go to the finals without worrying and go home to Korea with the trophy.”
