To celebrate its 2nd anniversary, Solo Leveling: Arise has unveiled its ‘EVOLUTION’ update roadmap, following the SLC 2026 tournament. The update features a revamped growth path to help new hunters settle in more easily, alongside content compression designed to reduce player fatigue.

The 2nd-anniversary celebration includes events where players can earn numerous SSR hunters and weapons, as well as 500 recruitment tickets. Additionally, the ‘Successor’—a being on par with Sung Jinwoo—will be introduced to the Sung Jinwoo mode, adding a new layer of gameplay. In June, a new class called ‘Buster’ will be added to create synergy with Stackers, with the 7-star hunter Liu Zhigang arriving as the first character of this class.

■ Calling All New Hunters! Revamped Growth Path

The time required to reach level 150 from level 1 has been significantly reduced. The goal is to compress ‘daily chores’ so players can focus more on the action and make the most of their time.

Early-game progression and story segments have been condensed, and the previous new user guides, ‘Challenges’ and ‘Preparation to Become Strong,’ have been merged into the ‘Monarch’s Milestone.’ Simply following this milestone will allow players to reach a combat power of approximately 2.5 million, a level previously unattainable for beginners.

Beyond combat power, players can obtain 15 SSR hunters and 10 SSR weapons for Sung Jinwoo. Since Solo Leveling is a game where team composition is key, we hope you enjoy experimenting with these new hunters and weapons.

These benefits are available to both new and existing hunters. Players who have already fully evolved characters to 10 stars will receive items like Association Certificates. The utility of these certificates will also be expanded, providing significant value to veteran players.

■ Tired of Endless Chores? Content Compression is Here

In addition to focusing on growth, we are removing unnecessary fatigue. Entry currencies are being consolidated or removed. Following the changes already applied to Instance Dungeons, keys for the Hunter Archive will be removed, and rewards can be obtained without repetitive play. Battlefield entry currencies are also being unified for convenience, and Gates are being revamped so you no longer need to spam ‘re-search’ to find S-rank Gates.

We are introducing a seasonal system to provide better motivation through challenge-based content. As new content was added to Solo Leveling, the burden of weekly chores increased. The new seasonal system will operate on a monthly rotation to boost motivation and reduce fatigue, grouping similar content into categories.

Challenge-based content is also being revamped to better fit its purpose. For instance, the Workshop of Brilliant Light will have its core farming elements removed, allowing players to focus on the true ‘challenge’ and action-oriented gameplay.

■ Evolving Story, Independent of Content Compression

Some may worry that content simplification will affect story presentation. Simply put, you don’t need to worry. The development team considers the story a top priority, and the story featured in this update contains crucial content from the original work. We are putting extra care into its production, so please look forward to it.

As fans of the original Solo Leveling know, this story arc features the heartbreaking moment of Sung Jinwoo’s farewell. Our animation and sound teams have worked hard to capture the atmosphere of the original work.

■ Evolution of Action: The ‘Buster’ Class

Last year, we introduced the ‘Attribute Infusion’ system and the specialized ‘Stacker’ class. Now, we are introducing the ‘Buster’ class, which utilizes the ‘Overload’ state induced by Stackers to deliver explosive damage.

While existing dealers felt like they were catching their breath once Overload ended, the Buster is designed to push past those limits. The core mechanic involves accumulating damage during the Overload state and then detonating it with a new QTE skill for massive burst damage, creating perfect synergy with Stackers.

The first character to usher in this new era is the 7-star hunter, Liu Zhigang. Just like in the story, he will pair with the fire-attribute Stacker, Christopher Reid. Although Liu Zhigang doesn’t have many scenes in the original work, he is a highly symbolic and anticipated character. We decided to make him a Buster because a standard class wouldn’t have done him justice. Our planning team has also put great effort into expanding his background beyond the webtoon.

Combining Liu Zhigang and Christopher Reid will allow for damage output unlike anything seen before.

Regarding the upcoming release schedule, Antoine is set to be released in May, followed by Liu Zhigang in the June update.

Action in Sung Jinwoo mode is undergoing changes. Sung Jinwoo, being a unique character who acts independently, did not previously have tag play applied to his mode. However, a new addition called the ‘Successor’ is being introduced to break this limitation and bring a fresh combat style to Sung Jinwoo mode.

The first Successor, named ‘Miro,’ possesses the power of Baran. Successors are characters with combat prowess equal to Sung Jinwoo. Miro, a wind-attribute character, focuses on unleashing power through flow rather than sheer strength. This concept involves summoning a Successor from another world to fight alongside Sung Jinwoo.

Unlike traditional methods, there is no need to set up separate weapons or equipment for Successors. They share Sung Jinwoo’s weapons and artifacts, growing in strength as Sung Jinwoo does. Miro can be deployed through the ‘Shadow Power’ slot, with acquisition and growth occurring over an extended period rather than just four weeks.

To celebrate the 2nd anniversary, players can look forward to earning powerful rewards. These include 27 SSR hunter draws, 22 SSR Sung Jinwoo weapon draws, and up to 500 recruitment tickets. 400 tickets will be given as attendance rewards, with an additional 100 available through simple daily quests.

The May 7 update and the arrival of Liu Zhigang in June are highly anticipated events in the game. Can you please rewrite the following sentence?
