After a fierce competition among the three Terran players for survival, Cho Gi-seok, who met Yoo Seung-gon again in the final match, won again and took a ticket to the round of 16.

On the evening of the 23rd, Group A matches were held on the first day of the Google Play ASL Season 21 (hereinafter referred to as ASL Season 21) Round of 24 Dual Tournament at Freak Up Studio in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. In Group A, Terran’s Ki-Seok ‘Sharp’, Seung-Gon ‘Scan’ Yoo, Chan-Hee ‘Mong’ Yoon, and Yoon-Jong ‘Rain’ Jeong of Protoss participated, and Ki-Seok ‘Sharp’ Jo passed the tournament in second place in the group.

The loser’s match between ‘Scan’ Yoo Seung-gon and ‘Mong’ Chan-hee Yoon, which took place on the match point map, ended with the victory of Yoo Seung-gon, who accurately exploited his opponent’s weak point with a race.

Yoo Seung-gon was stationed at 1 o’clock and Yoon Chan-hee at 7 o’clock, and Yoon Chan-hee sent troops toward Yoo Seung-gon’s expansion to hinder construction. In a situation where both players chose to build a starport, they took out their Wraiths and attacked the scout barracks, and the situation in which they stared at each other in the central area led to a competition between tanks and vultures for position. Yoo Seung-gon, who started the attack by positioning himself near the opponent’s expansion, drew out his defensive forces and exploded Goliath, blocking the entrance. Yoon Chan-hee, who dropped the Vulture in the 6 o’clock area with a dropship and started a counterattack after 5 o’clock, continued striking without opposition from the opponent, and Yoo Seung-gon released the opponent’s entrance and retreated.

Chan-hee Yoon, who started a counterattack by climbing the hill, pushed in with Vulture, demolished the opponent’s defensive wall with Goliath and Siege Tank, and entered a sit-in. After deploying forward, in a situation where there were no more attacks, Seung-gon Yoo attempted a counterattack, exploding the Goliath and damaging the tank. Yoo Seung-gon, who succeeded in defeating the opponent’s troops by sending the race to 11 o’clock, occupied the 5 o’clock area and also destroyed a number of Goliaths and tanks. In a confrontation situation in the central area, Chan-hee Yoon put down Goliath and a tank at the entrance to the opponent’s base using a dropship, but Seung-gon Yoo, who stopped this, expanded into the 6 o’clock area, and Chan-hee Yoon sent troops to destroy it, causing damage to workers and also damaging the Commander Center.

Yoo Seung-gon, who destroyed the opponent’s tank with a race and at the same time occupied the hill and blocked the opponent’s entrance again, struck until 11 o’clock and recorded his first victory in 23 minutes and 27 seconds.

The match between ‘Sharp’ Ki-seok and ‘Scan’ Seung-gon Yoo on the Polestar map for the last ticket to the round of 16 in Group A ended with a complete victory for Ki-seok Cho, who pushed aside his opponent’s checks and headed to the main base with a tank.

In a situation where Jo Ki-seok and Yoo Seung-gon set up their base at 7 o’clock and Yoo Seung-gon set up their base at 11 o’clock, Yoo Seung-gon, who was watching Ki-seok’s side with two Vultures, inflicted damage on the SCV and entered the base when attacked by a tank. Meanwhile, Jo Ki-seok formed a unit of tanks, vultures, and workers and continued his advance by attacking the opponent’s front yard, destroying the opponent’s tanks and driving the front yard SCVs into the main base. Yoo Seung-gon tried to find a point by rotating the center with the vulture unit, but Ki-seok Cho also anticipated this and repeatedly blocked it.

Cho Ki-seok, who expanded his troops by selecting Goliath, added a race and hit the opponent’s defensive wall, and with almost all of the troops to guard Yoo Seung-gon’s front yard eliminated, he surrendered in 10 minutes and 36 seconds, confirming his advancement to the round of 16.
