Blizzard Entertainment’s popular strategy card game, Hearthstone, is starting Battlegrounds Season 13: Cataclysm Calls today (the 15th, KST). This new season brings in two fresh keywords, a range of new and returning trinkets, two new heroes, 48 new minions, and 61 returning minions.

To begin with, the new ‘Fodder’ keyword is now in play. Fodder is specifically for Demons; utilizing Fodder will add Fodder minions to your minion pool. When you refresh and come across Fodder, your Demons will devour it to gain its stats, making room for a new minion to take its place.
Another addition is the ‘Chromadrake’ keyword for Dragons. There are five variations of Chromadrakes, each providing buffs to Dragons and Tavern spells.

New heroes are also stepping into the arena. Players can now take on the roles of Genn, Worgen King, who can access two different hero powers with his ‘Duality’ ability, and Mister Clocksworth, who can accelerate Battlegrounds compositions with his ‘Recording’ ability to hasten minion upgrades.
The ‘Trinkets’ feature is making a return with an upgraded system that offers more complementary trinkets more frequently, including 73 new trinkets and 149 returning ones.

With the launch of Season 13, updates have been made to Battlegrounds Ratings and the Battlegrounds Track, bringing in a range of new rewards, including Cataclysm-themed cosmetic items.
The ‘Battle in the Firelands’ event is also running from today until Wednesday, May 6. In a scenario where the corrupted Firelord Ragnaros has set the World Tree ablaze and aims to turn it into a bonfire, players must unite with Malfurion to combat the threat. Successfully thwarting this danger will earn players various rewards such as cards, Cataclysm packs, coins, and hero skins.
