On the evening of the 13th, Group A match was held on the first day of the round of 16 dual tournament of ‘Google Play ASL Season 21 (hereinafter referred to as ASL Season 21)’ at Freak Up Studio in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The first set started with Silphid 3 maps. Soo-cheol Yoon started the game at 4 o’clock and Ho-seon Choi started the game at 8 o’clock, and both players attempted to expand by taking the front yard in a clockwise direction. After Soo-cheol Yoon sent a shuttle loaded with Zealots, Dragoons, and Reavers in front of Multi at 9 o’clock to blow up the bunker and retreated, Ho-sun Choi also sent tanks, Goliaths, and marine troops to the central area, but Soo-cheol Yoon blocked it.
Ho-sun Choi used Vulture to move around the central area, looking for an opening, and hit Soo-cheol Yoon’s 3 o’clock multi. At the same time, Soo-cheol Yoon also captured Ho-sun Choi’s main base SVC with a well-timed river, once again blocking the attack of 3 o’clock multi, and surrounding the Terran troops in the central area, causing great damage. Choi Ho-seon, who chose to move by floating the building, attempted a counterattack by sending SCV, Vulture, and Wraith to the opponent’s base, and even built a turret to overcome the crisis. Yoon Soo-cheol, whose growth was blocked, tried to attack Choi Ho-seon’s new central area with Dark Templar, but because the defense was already in place, he could not get any more chances and declared surrender after 10 minutes and 32 seconds.
The 3rd set on the knockout map, which will determine the last survivor of Group A in a 1-1 situation, began with Soo-cheol Yoon in the 7 o’clock zone and Ho-seon Choi in the 11 o’clock zone. In two minutes, Soo-cheol Yoon sent one probe to Ho-sun Choi’s base to scout and retreated. He thought the opponent was preparing for an early rush and prepared for it with forge, but Ho-sun Choi only shot one marine and chose the SCV.
Meanwhile, Choi Ho-sun, who filled the front yard, sent down vultures, but Yoon Soo-cheol, who had installed a photon cannon in the meantime, took out all the vultures that came down from the dropship and even shot down the dropship. However, Yoon Soo-cheol, who did not miss the fact that Choi Ho-sun’s tank unit, which was trying to attack the southeastern Multi, had misplaced it, took the opportunity to counterattack with Zealot and High Templar units, and at 12 o’clock, he attacked Multi, cutting off the line of resources. Then, they attacked the opponent’s main base guarding the 1 o’clock front with a large unit, re-entered the 12 o’clock area, and launched a final attack, becoming the protagonist of a major comeback in 23 minutes and 35 seconds and winning a ticket to the quarterfinals.
