Activision has unveiled the PC system requirements for Modern Warfare 4, but surprisingly, the target resolution for the minimum and recommended settings is conspicuously absent.

Is your current hardware capable of delivering smooth gameplay, or will you need to invest in an expensive upgrade before the fall arrives?

Ahead of the official launch on October 23, 2026, publisher Activision and Beenox—the team behind the PC version—have shared the system requirements for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on the official Call of Duty blog.

Despite the seemingly reasonable hardware requirements, the absence of a crucial benchmark has left many PC gamers puzzled.

PC System Requirements at a Glance

Activision and Beenox have categorized the hardware requirements into three tiers:

Component Minimum Recommended (90 FPS, High Details) Ultra / Ray Tracing (4K Upscaled, High RT)

Anti-Cheat and BIOS Requirements: Additional hurdles for older systems

Aside from the resolution debate, there are still a few technical requirements in the fine print that owners of older computers, in particular, should check before purchasing:

  • TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are required: To secure its proprietary anti-cheat system, RICOCHET, at the system level, Modern Warfare 4 requires an activated TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) and Secure Boot in the BIOS. This can lead to problems, especially on older systems, if these features aren’t enabled.
  • Processor and GPU requirements: The CPU must support the AVX instruction set. Additionally, according to the developers, anyone using an Intel graphics card (Arc A580 or B580) should definitely enable “Resizable BAR” in the BIOS (via Intel) in the BIOS to avoid performance losses.

Independent benchmarks for the campaign early access in mid-October will reveal just how well Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 actually runs on standard PC systems and how much memory it requires.

How about you: Does your PC easily meet the recommended requirements for Modern Warfare 4—and what resolution do you plan to play at? Let us know in the comments!
