The beta showcases one of the most iconic video game characters ever with a less than flattering hairstyle. Infinity Ward has now pledged to address this issue.
Typically, beta testing for a new Call of Duty game sparks discussions around topics like SBMM or time-to-kill. However, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, a different conversation is taking place: the hairstyle of Captain Price, arguably one of the most beloved characters in the franchise.
Since the Early Access beta launched on August 21, images have been circulating showing a significant departure from his usual look. While his impressive beard remains somewhat intact, his hair appears thin, unkempt, and falling out, with dark circles under his eyes—overall, a Price that seems more fitting for a bar than a Team Deathmatch.

Shortly after the photos surfaced, hundreds of comments poured in:
- AhlertJonathan: “Price looks like a divorced dad after paying child support.”
- Ghost2668: “Bro, that’s NOT Captain Price.”
- PromeiaEvelynn: “This guy could join the twins from Outlast.”
- chardoyaaay: “He looks like that damn Andrew Tate. Get it together, Infinity Ward. Give Price back his class.”
The Reason Behind Price’s Appearance
According to Activision and Infinity Ward, the issue lies in the lowest detail setting: Responding to fan posts, the social media team explained that the hair is not rendered correctly at the lowest detail level.
Therefore, players looking to optimize performance or those with less powerful computers will have to tolerate a disheveled Captain Price—for now. The developers have assured players that his usual hairstyle will make a comeback in a future update.
While no specific date has been announced, the start of the open beta on August 28—allowing even non-pre-order customers to try the game for free—seems like a fitting time for this fix.
