Sandfall Interactive revealed today that ‘Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’ has achieved over 8 million units in sales.
Launched by Sandfall Interactive on April 24 last year, ‘Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’ has garnered praise from both players and critics for its captivating visuals, innovative action system integrated into turn-based RPG gameplay, rich storyline, and immersive soundtrack. Following this success, the game reached 5 million units sold within six months of release, set a record for the most Game of the Year (GOTY) awards in history, and received the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French government. Additionally, it made history by winning all five major game awards—the Golden Joystick Awards, D.I.C.E. Awards, The Game Awards, GDC Awards, and BAFTA Games Awards—joining ‘Baldur’s Gate 3’ as the only titles to achieve this feat.
In another milestone, the game has now surpassed 8 million total sales, celebrating its first anniversary with ongoing success. Through their official X account, Sandfall Interactive expressed gratitude not only to players, but also to everyone who has supported the game through fan creations, streams, and community involvement.
To commemorate the first anniversary, a new content update has been released, introducing various hairstyles for multiple characters, including a special first-anniversary style for Gustave. The update also addresses issues such as text errors in certain achievements and a bug that was hindering players from accessing rest points during world dialogue. Additionally, a first-anniversary sale will run until May 1.
