A new collaboration has been officially announced today by Japan’s professional soccer league, the J.League, with Blue Archive, as shared on their official social media.
Set to debut during the upcoming 2026/27 J1 League season starting in August, this collaboration will involve all 20 clubs within the J1 League. The unique concept will see 20 students from Blue Archive cheering on the teams, alongside on-site events at the stadiums and exclusive merchandise designed for each club. The list of participating students will be revealed later on J.League’s social media platforms. The J.League, established in 1993, continues to attract over 9 million spectators annually. To further engage fans, the league has a history of collaborating with various games, anime, manga, and characters like Love Live!, Gundam, Chiikawa, and Nijisanji. Blue Archive, a popular subculture collectible RPG developed by Nexon Games, has also announced other collaborations, including one with Sengawa Yukemurinosato Onsen, in addition to this partnership with the J.League.
Players take on the role of a teacher in the academy city of Kibotos in Blue Archive, working with students from different academies to solve city-wide issues. The game’s unique atmosphere, diverse student characters, and youth-centric story have garnered it a dedicated following among subculture gamers. Beyond the game itself, Blue Archive has expanded into fan creations, collaborations, and themed cafes. In the sports realm, alongside the J.League collaboration, a charity run event called ‘Kibotos Run’ is scheduled for June 14th, aiming to capture the essence of students enjoying sports through themed activities and merchandise.
