In 2019, Blizzard launched WoW: Classic, and now, WoW: Forever is set to take players back to the 1.0 era permanently, without any expansions in sight.
Blizzard is charting a new course for the story, offering an alternative version of the world that diverges from the established WoW lore. This approach aims to engage new players with classic WoW without overwhelming them with extensive backstory.
World of Warcraft: Forever is scheduled for release on November 4, 2026, with beta testing starting on September 17. Players will require an active WoW subscription to access the game, with the beta costing 60 euros.
