Learned from mistakes?
Upon the remaster of Warcraft 3 in 2020 with the Reforged Edition, it sparked significant frustration within the community. Many promised features and content from 2018, including cutscenes, were missing from the final release. Furthermore, existing features from the original, particularly online functions, were either removed or altered for the worse.
Technically, the Reforged Edition was far from perfect, with players reporting numerous crashes and graphical glitches. Fans of the original had no choice but to switch to the remaster as Blizzard completely replaced the game.
Despite improvements made by Blizzard in the years following the release, tensions never fully subsided. Therefore, the expansion and update could be viewed as a goodwill gesture, provided they meet the community’s expectations and demonstrate Blizzard’s continued dedication to the franchise.
