Prior to the commencement of the LCK season, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok and interim head coach Im “Tom” Jae-hyeon participated in the 2026 LCK Media Day at LoL Park in Jongno on the 26th. Following head coach Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun’s decision to take a break, T1 will navigate through the LCK regular season under the guidance of interim head coach Tom.
Returning to the role of interim head coach after the 2023 season, Tom expressed, “Although this isn’t my first time, there’s still a certain level of pressure.” He went on to say, “While the team atmosphere is positive, there are areas where we can enhance our performance. I hope our players can practice diligently, play well with less stress, and achieve strong results this year.”
Faker also weighed in, stating, “With the coach taking a break, we must strive to perform at our best. The remaining players and coaching staff should unite and deliver a strong showing in the LCK.”
When asked about the team’s synergy with new member Kim “Peyz” Su-hwan, Faker remarked, “Although we worked on our coordination during the LCK Cup, there are still areas where we can improve.” He added, “Throughout the remainder of the LCK, we’ll continue to focus on enhancing our performance.”
Approaching the 13th anniversary of his debut, Faker stands as a veteran in League of Legends Esports, having overcome various challenges while maintaining his passion for the game.
Faker expressed, “Competing is immensely enjoyable for me. I find great value in the learning and growth that comes from facing other teams.” He concluded, “With this goal in mind, I am committed to working diligently this season,” showcasing his enduring determination.
