Gamevil, before merging with Com2uS, was known for popular mobile games like the ‘Zenonia’ series, ‘Com2uS Pro Baseball’, and the ‘Nom’ series. The very first installment of the Zenonia series, originally named ‘Zenonia: Thread of Memory’, has now been rebranded on Steam as ‘Zenonia 1’.
Originally released in August 2008, Zenonia 1 was initially priced at ₩3,000. Marketed as a ‘Reality Action RPG’, the game successfully transitioned to the smartphone platform and even expanded to the Nintendo DS and PSP.
The success of Zenonia 1 paved the way for a franchise that included five numbered titles and four spin-offs, totaling nine games. However, over time, the series declined, with the original Zenonia 1 service ending on December 19, 2014, making it only accessible through console versions or direct APK downloads.
The Steam version of Zenonia 1 remains true to the original but includes updated graphics and UI improvements. Players can choose from three classes for the protagonist, ‘Regret’: the well-rounded ‘Warrior’, the defensive ‘Paladin’, or the offensive ‘Assassin’. The game also features a dynamic day/night cycle and a morality system that changes based on player decisions.
