I didn’t expect today to be a smooth journey, but I’m pleased with how things turned out.
Q. You currently hold the record for the most runner-up finishes in ASL history. Are you eager to clinch a championship title? Who would you like to face in the quarterfinals?
My preference is to compete against a Terran player from Group D.
Q. How did you strategize for your match against Lim Jin-mook?
My plan was to apply pressure with Zealots and Dragoons while adjusting to the game’s progression.
Q. In the winner’s match against Jo Il-jang, you faced difficulties in the first game due to Hydralisks. What transpired?
I believed I could handle it. Additionally, I erred by initiating with a Cannon instead of a Nexus.
Q. Who do you anticipate will advance from the upcoming ‘Taek – Lee – Ssang’ group?
My prediction is that Lee Young-ho will progress, while Kim Taek-yong has been displaying exceptional form recently.
Q. Protoss players often struggle against early Hydralisk pressure. Even in the third set, your victory was hard-fought despite your solid defense.
I attribute the challenge in the third set to my numerous mistakes. There was a period during the game where I failed to produce units for over a minute. Maintaining my supply and executing a stronger offense would have secured an easier win.
Q. Any final thoughts?
I acknowledge my room for improvement and remain eager for more. My focus is on advancing to the semifinals, the finals, and ultimately claiming the championship.
