Su4 Esport managed to come from behind to defeat Cresent with a score of 2-1 on Monday, October 12, 2026, during the playoff semi-final of the DreamLeague China Open Qualifier 2 for season 30. The best-of-three series went the full distance, with two out of the three games lasting for 55 and 57 minutes respectively.
The turnaround victory was even more impressive considering Cresent’s previous experience in the DreamLeague cycle. Having participated in the China Open Qualifier 1 for season 30, Cresent brought valuable experience to the table.
Cresent secures the 55-minute opening victory
Cresent started strong by winning the first game, which lasted 55 minutes, putting Su4 Esport at risk of losing the semi-final.
This victory was significant for Cresent, as they had suffered defeats in the previous Qualifier, losing 0-2 to Cloud Rising and 0-2 to Cloud Dawning. Therefore, this win marked their first map victory in their last three series.
Su4 Esport bounces back in 18 minutes and clinches a 57-minute decider
Su4 Esport quickly responded by winning game 2 in just 18 minutes, the shortest game of the series, forcing a deciding game.
The third game turned out to be the longest, lasting 57 minutes and ultimately being secured by Su4 Esport, resulting in a 2-1 victory and completing their comeback after the initial defeat.
Both teams entered the semi-final without a ranking advantage in the Elo power rankings, making the match a closely contested one decided by just one game.
Cresent faces their third consecutive series defeat
For Cresent, this loss marked their third consecutive series defeat across the two China Open qualifiers, following losses of 0-2 to Cloud Rising and 0-2 to Cloud Dawning, and now 1-2 to Su4 Esport. However, this defeat was the closest of the three losses.
Su4 Esport advances from the semi-final with a well-deserved victory. Since the qualifier was scheduled for October 12 only, the remaining playoff bracket was set to be resolved on the same day.
Cresent exits the semi-final with one game won against Su4 Esport, which is an improvement from their performance against Cloud Rising and Cloud Dawning in Qualifier 1.
