iRacing and the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) are set to host the FIA F4 Esports Global Championship presented by MOZA for the third year in a row, kicking off on Oct. 31 with an eight-race series.
The 2026 championship will boast a $35,000 prize pool, with live broadcasts planned across iRacing’s social media platforms. Participants will earn their spots through iRacing’s FIA F4 Esports Regional Tours during the 2026 Season 3, with the top 10 drivers from Europe, Americas, and Asia-Pacific regional tours qualifying for the global championship.
This partnership showcases the FIA’s innovative use of esports as both a media platform and a way to attract new talent. Since 2023, the FIA and iRacing have collaborated on the Formula 4 platform, rebranding the Formula iR-04 as the FIA F4 on iRacing. The FIA has positioned this program as a tool for national sporting authorities to introduce iRacing and the FIA F4 car to new users through member clubs.
Unlike traditional esports tournaments, the FIA F4 program is structured more as a funnel, where regional competitions feed into a global championship. This setup, combined with the FIA’s national member network, extends the program’s reach beyond iRacing’s subscriber base.
The 2026 edition will follow a similar format to previous years, with four doubleheader events scheduled for Oct. 31, Nov. 7, Nov. 14, and Nov. 21. Drivers will compete using fixed setups, and the tracks will be revealed only 24 hours before each event to highlight adaptability over preparation.
The prize pool for the series remains at $35,000, consistent with the 2025 championship and an increase from the $25,000 purse in 2024. MOZA Racing will return as the presenting sponsor, leveraging the FIA F4 program as a marketing platform for its sim racing hardware aimed at competitive sim racers and motorsport enthusiasts.
