Microids has revealed the first glimpse of gameplay for ‘Garfield – Escape from Monday.’ Recently unveiled footage showcases the initial 10 minutes of the opening stage. The title is in development by Awesomenauts Studio.
This 3D action platformer follows Garfield as he navigates a dream world after consuming spinach lasagna. Players will guide him through various challenges like jumping, climbing walls, and rolling, all while encountering formidable bosses.
Garfield can don different costumes to enhance his abilities: the Turkey costume enables gliding, the Surfer costume allows sliding on water, and the Cowboy costume provides swinging via a lasso. With three distinct worlds and over 40 stages, players can gather collectibles to customize Jon’s house.
Fans of the original series will be delighted to see familiar faces like Jon, Odie, Arlene, and Pooky aiding Garfield, while Nermal and Squeak pose as adversaries.
‘Garfield – Escape from Monday’ is set to launch on September 24 for Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Further details on a local release, Korean language support, and pricing are yet to be disclosed.
