Kakao Games hosted a media showcase on August 20 to introduce “Dokkaebi World,” a new 2.5D MMORPG in development by Supercat. The game combines 2D pixel characters with 3D backgrounds to create a unique universe with a blend of retro and modern elements, inspired by traditional Korean culture. The collaboration with REDICE STUDIO, known for “Solo Leveling,” adds to the game’s quality as a K-fantasy IP.
The showcase featured Kakao Games CEO Lee Si-woo, Supercat Producer Park Sung-jun, Director Jang Su-min, and Kakao Games Head of Business Division Cha Myeong-su, who elaborated on the game’s concept, graphics, gameplay, systems, and future plans.
Highlighted game features include “Infinite Skill Deck Building,” PvP options, “Clan PvE Avatar Dispatch,” AI assistant “Myorong,” and “Dimensional Conquest” mode supporting up to 9,000 players.
Pre-registration for “Dokkaebi World” is now open on Kakao Games, Google Play, Apple App Store, and other app stores. Participants can receive in-game rewards and participate in friend invitation events for exclusive prizes.
Kakao Games also offers limited-edition collaboration merch and hanbok themed merchandise to capture the essence of “Dokkaebi World.” An online showcase in September will reveal more core content and service details, leading up to the game’s official launch in October.
