Gravity Well, a studio founded by former Respawn Entertainment members, has unfortunately had to let go of most of its team due to a loss of funding.

In a post on LinkedIn, the studio’s leaders Drew McCoy, Jon Shiring, and Mon Saetern revealed that they lost their funding during the summer and are currently seeking a new partner. This unfortunate situation has led to the departure of over 40 talented developers from Gravity Well.

All team members were kept informed as the situation unfolded, understanding the possibility of layoffs if new funding could not be secured. The leaders expressed deep regret that they were unable to find a solution in time to retain the entire team.

Despite the challenges, a smaller team will persevere as Gravity Well fights to stay afloat. However, the future remains uncertain given the current industry landscape.

The studio also urged other companies to consider hiring the displaced employees, showing support for those affected by the unfortunate turn of events.
