The International 2026 concluded in Shanghai with another chapter in Team Spirit’s Dota 2 dynasty. The team defeated PVISION 3:2 in the Grand Final to become the first organization in history to win The International three times, adding the 2026 title to its victories in 2021 and 2023.
The event also delivered another strong year for The International in terms of audience reach. TI 2026 recorded 1.79M Peak Viewers. Its peak was the third-highest ever recorded for the tournament series and currently ranks seventh among all esports events held in 2026.
Team Spirit achieve historic third TI victory
Team Spirit’s journey to the championship was anything but easy. PVISION bested them twice before the Grand Final, first with a clean sweep during the Group Stage and later 2:1 in the upper bracket semifinals. Team Spirit then fought their way through the lower bracket, defeating Team Liquid, BB Team, and Team Yandex before ultimately claiming victory over PVISION in a thrilling five-game Grand Final.
The win made Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk and Magomed “Collapse” Khalilov the first players to achieve a hat-trick of International victories. Former captain Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov also secured his third championship, this time as Team Spirit’s coach, while Denis “Larl” Sigitov became a two-time TI winner. The final standings highlighted Eastern Europe’s dominance at the event: Team Spirit, PVISION, Team Yandex and BB Team occupied all four top positions.
The International 2026 audience numbers
The Grand Final drew the largest audience of the tournament, reaching 1,792,174 concurrent viewers. The next highest viewership came from Team Spirit and PVISION’s earlier playoff clash at 1.06M Peak Viewers, indicating a significant increase in viewership for the championship series. Nigma Galaxy’s matchup against defending champions Team Falcons rounded out the top three with 952.7K Peak Viewers.
TI 2026 also saw a slight improvement in key metrics compared to the previous year. Its peak viewership was only 0.4% higher than TI 2025’s 1.785M, but Hours Watched increased by approximately 1.9%, from 63.17M to 64.35M. With both editions having similar airtime, Average Viewers also experienced a modest growth of around 1.1% year-over-year.
These figures position TI 2026 as the third most-watched installment in the series by Peak Viewers, trailing only The International 10 in 2021, which holds the record for Dota 2 with 2.74M viewers, and The International 2019 with 1.97M. The latest edition narrowly surpassed both TI 2025 and TI 2022.
In the broader esports landscape, The International holds the seventh spot among 2026 tournaments by Peak Viewers. It falls behind this year’s leading Mobile Legends, Counter-Strike, and League of Legends events, while nearly matching the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026, with just 457 Peak Viewers separating the two tournaments.
Esports Charts statistics do not include viewership from Chinese livestreaming platforms, as their popularity metrics are not directly comparable to global platforms. This is especially relevant for TI 2026, considering the tournament took place in Shanghai.
