The Exciting Upgrade for GTA 5 Players
Are you still immersed in the world of GTA 5 on your PS4 or Xbox One? Well, get ready for a treat because Rockstar and Take-Two are offering a major upgrade for free to players who own the digital version of the game on their current-gen PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
The Free Upgrade Announcement
In a recent blog post from Rockstar, the companies announced that players who own the last-gen digital version of GTA 5 will receive a free update to the current-gen version. This means you can enjoy all the enhancements and features of the latest version without spending an extra $30 USD.
“Beginning tomorrow, those who own any PS4 version or the digital Xbox One version of Grand Theft Auto 5 will be able to upgrade to the PS5 or Xbox Series X/S versions at no additional cost, and experience the best versions of GTA 5 and GTA Online ahead of the launch of the Kortz Center Heist,” Rockstar stated.
Exciting Features of the Upgrade
The upgraded versions of GTA 5 and GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S come with vast technical improvements, easy migration of your progress, and new features like special vehicles and upgrades, career progress rewards, and more. It’s a fantastic opportunity to enhance your gaming experience with the latest enhancements and content.
The Controversy Surrounding Rockstar
While this free upgrade is a generous gesture from Rockstar, it’s essential to acknowledge the recent controversy surrounding the company. Accusations of union-busting have been raised after Rockstar terminated 34 employees, all of whom were union members. The case is set to begin on September 10, 2026, and its outcome could potentially impact the gaming industry.
In Conclusion
As players gear up for the highly anticipated release of GTA 6, the free upgrade for GTA 5 offers a glimpse into the future of gaming. Despite the controversies, the gaming community eagerly awaits the next chapter in the GTA series.
