Riot Games has updated the eligibility rules for next week’s Riftbound: League of Legends TCG Riot Merch Store drawing, providing more flexibility for selected players to purchase products.
The second Unleashed merch store drawing will open on Monday, May 18 at 9 AM PT and close on Wednesday, May 20 at 9 AM PT. Selection emails will start going out from Tuesday, May 26, with fulfillment scheduled for early to mid-June. The game was originally released on October 31, 2025.
The drawing will feature Booster Displays from Origins, Spiritforged, and Unleashed, as well as Proving Grounds Box Sets. This event is part of Riot’s ongoing efforts to make Riftbound products more accessible due to high demand, bot activity, and supply pressures from previous releases.
During Spiritforged, Riot shifted away from a first-come, first-served model for merch store sales after overwhelming demand and bot traffic. The new drawing system aims to give players a fair chance to purchase products, with selected players receiving a limited-time window for their purchases.
Changes to Catch-up Pool eligibility
The most significant change involves Riot’s Catch-Up Pool, designed to assist players who missed out on previous booster display drawings.
Previously, eligibility was determined by participation in the Spiritforged, Lunar Revel Bundle, and first Unleashed drawings without being selected. However, Riot has now narrowed the requirements to include only entries for Spiritforged and Unleashed Booster Displays. This adjustment allows players who purchased other items but missed out on booster displays to still be eligible for the Catch-Up Pool.
This change aims to make the system less punishing for players who bought different products but were unable to secure booster boxes.
Cart Flexibility for Players
Riot has introduced a significant quality-of-life improvement: selected players can now remove individual items from their drawing cart before checkout.
Previously, players were unable to modify their cart and had to purchase all selected products. Now, players can remove specific items, such as a Proving Grounds set, if selected for multiple products.
However, once an item is removed, it cannot be restored. The removed products will be available for other players, and Player Support will not be able to reinstate them.
Drawing Timing and Updates
The May drawing follows the English release of Unleashed, Riftbound’s third major set. The English release was slated for May 8, with Summoner Skirmish windows opening between May 25 and June 22.
Unleashed introduces Riftbound’s first Ultimate Rare, including a special Baron Nashor card found in less than 0.1% of packs, according to Riot’s booster pack rarity information.
The broader Catch-Up drawing aligns with Riot’s efforts to enhance product availability. Reprints of Origins and Proving Grounds are underway, with more Origins boosters expected post-Unleashed launch and a larger shipment later in May. Riot plans to continue printing early Riftbound sets until supply stabilizes.
Entry Requirements
Interested participants must have a valid Riot ID and can register once per ID. The use of multiple accounts, scripts, or bots is prohibited and may result in a ban. Selection entitles players to purchase the products they are chosen for, with entry being free.
Selected players will receive a unique purchase link to a pre-filled Riot Merch Store cart, which must be completed within 24 hours of receiving the email. Failure to do so will result in the link expiring and the items being offered to another participant.
In a bid to combat bots and bad actors, Riot has enhanced security features for the drawing. With the ongoing demand for Riftbound products, the revised Catch-Up rules and cart flexibility aim to benefit players seeking booster displays without resorting to inflated secondary markets.
