While fans from Southeast Asia have significantly contributed to the viewership success of Free Fire events, the absence of Hindi-speaking fans, following the game’s ban in India, had a notable impact. However, with India’s reintroduction into the esports scene through the Free Fire MAX version, recent live streaming numbers have shown an upward trend.

Portuguese and Spanish viewers also played a crucial role, with the Mexican esports organization LYON being joined in the top ten by three Brazilian teams. LYON set a new EWC record during the Group Stage, achieving 33 eliminations and a Booyah, surpassing the previous record of 28 eliminations.

Furthermore, the number of unique broadcasting channels covering the Free Fire event at the Esports World Cup has been steadily increasing. This number rose from 149 last year to 375 in 2026, driven by heightened interest from Indian Hindi-speaking community streamers like Raj “Snax Gaming” Varma and Shivam “Nonstop Gaming” Rathi.

The proliferation of channels live streaming the action also benefited YouTube and TikTok, with both platforms experiencing notable increases in watch time and peak concurrent viewership, reflecting the increased engagement from South and Southeast Asian audiences this year.
