Philippines emerges on top in Southeast Asian qualifying standings
Eight national teams vied in the Southeast Asian qualifier, with the top five securing spots at the 2026 Asian Games. The Philippines, fielding a lineup primarily composed of Team Liquid PH players, clinched the top spot with a 6:1 series record and a 13:3 map score.
They suffered their lone defeat against Cambodia, who also finished with a 6:1 record and ended up just one point behind the group leader. Cambodia’s roster, led by players from Vigor Apex, handed the Philippines a 2:1 reverse-sweep loss but settled for second place due to a slightly weaker overall map record.
Indonesia, Myanmar, and Malaysia secured the remaining three qualifying slots. Their national lineups predominantly featured players from Alter Ego, Yangon Galacticos, and Team Rey, respectively.
Malaysia clinched the fifth and final slot after narrowly edging out Vietnam. Both teams finished with identical 3:4 series records, with Vietnam winning their head-to-head encounter.
