Indie.io, an independent game publisher, is introducing a new subscription service called Indie Pass. This service will give users access to a rotating collection of indie games for $6.99 per month.

Launching on April 13, the platform will start with approximately 70 titles, including popular games like Echoes of the Plum Grove and the Dark Deity series from Indie.io’s existing lineup. Indie.io is also in talks with other developers to feature their games on the platform, offering them a share of the revenue based on player engagement.

Jess Mitchell, the Director of Growth, explains that Indie Pass aims to enhance the discoverability of featured games for developers and provide users with a curated selection of indie titles that changes monthly. The platform’s recommendation system tracks user engagement to help them discover new games they might have missed otherwise.

Indie Pass is an extension of Indie.io’s publishing label, which boasts a catalog of over 200 games across various platforms, primarily PC. Additionally, the company operates a community platform called wiki.gg, attracting around 10 million monthly active users.

Mitchell emphasizes Indie.io’s commitment to supporting developers’ success by offering alternative solutions to traditional publishing, focusing on increasing exposure for their games.

Indie Pass aims to promote smaller indie titles in a crowded market while catering to a niche audience looking for unique gaming experiences.

The platform will continuously add new games, welcoming developers to join without any exclusivity requirements. Mitchell encourages developers to bring their catalog to Indie Pass for increased visibility and potential revenue.
