The annual GamesIndustry.biz Best Places To Work Awards UK were unveiled last night at the Royal Institution in London following the GamesIndustry.biz HR Summit. Amiqus, Playground Games, IO Interactive, Games London, and Special Effect generously sponsored the awards.
Employee feedback, gathered through anonymous surveys, accounts for 80% of each company’s score, with the remaining 20% based on internal policy submissions. The GamesIndustry.biz editorial team judges special awards, while the G into Gaming award is presented by Liz Prince MBE of Amiqus.
Despite a challenging year marked by layoffs and closures, this year’s submissions demonstrate the ongoing commitment of UK games companies to support their staff. Employees praised various policies, provisions, and team members that contribute to a positive work environment. The competition was fierce in certain categories, reflecting the industry’s focus on issues like mental health, environmental sustainability, and education and mentoring.
