Yellow Submarine emerged victorious over Power Rangers with a 2-0 win in the upper bracket final of the DreamLeague Eastern Europe Closed Qualifier for season 30 on Wednesday 14 October. The first game lasted 42 minutes, while the second game concluded in 36 minutes, sealing a decisive best-of-three series for the favored Yellow Submarine.

The disparity in performance was evident. Yellow Submarine holds the 21st spot in our Elo power rankings with a rating of 1766, whereas Power Rangers are placed 42nd with a rating of 1665. Additionally, Yellow Submarine boasts a more extensive experience with a record of 161 wins and 114 losses in 275 rated matches, compared to Power Rangers’ record of 55 wins and 35 losses in 90 matches.

Yellow Submarine’s Impressive Winning Streak

This marked the third consecutive 2-0 victory for Yellow Submarine in the qualifier. They started the playoffs by defeating Kalmychata in the second upper bracket quarter-final, followed by a win against HULIGANI in the first semi-final before their triumph over Power Rangers.

If we look back even further, Yellow Submarine has secured four straight 2-0 wins, including a victory over Nemiga Gaming at the EPL Masters Play-In season 3. This success comes after losses to Blasterbl and Team Synapse at the PARI Universe Closed Qualifier.

On the other hand, Power Rangers faced a tougher path to the final. Both of their previous series in this event went to three games, with a 2-1 victory over The Warriors in the third quarter-final and another 2-1 win against CyberHero in the second semi-final. Prior to this, they suffered defeats against HULIGANI, Natus Vincere, and Team Lynx at EPL Masters Season 2.

Continued Dominance: Yellow Submarine’s Third Win Over Power Rangers

This latest victory marks the third consecutive win for Yellow Submarine against Power Rangers. They previously defeated Power Rangers 2-1 at The International Europe Closed Qualifier on 27 June and repeated the feat with another 2-1 win at EPL Masters Season 1 on 9 August.

Unlike their previous encounters, this match did not require a deciding game. For Power Rangers, who had managed to navigate through two closely contested series earlier in the week, this loss came at the hands of the team that has consistently outperformed them throughout the summer.

Kalmychata’s Resilience in the Lower Bracket

Meanwhile, in other parts of the bracket, Kalmychata refused to back down after their quarter-final defeat to Yellow Submarine. They secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Nemiga Gaming in the first round of the lower bracket, followed by a 2-0 win over CyberHero in the second round and a 2-1 triumph over HULIGANI in the lower bracket semi-final.

Prior to this, HULIGANI had convincingly defeated Shadow Dance 2-0, after Shadow Dance had eliminated The Warriors with a 2-1 victory in the first round of the lower bracket. The qualifier is set to continue until 15 October.
