Here’s a remarkable deal story that’s sure to impress, although not everyone will strike gold like this lucky individual.
Redditor Scores an Incredible Deal on a Returned 64 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM RAM Kit for Just $6.99
We’ve all heard of users snagging DDR5 RAM kits at discounted prices due to pricing errors, but this story takes the cake. One Redditor, u/L0OK0UTT, shared his unbelievable stroke of luck on the PCMasterRace sub-Reddit after a visit to his local liquidator store.
A liquidator store is a treasure trove of excess, returned, or unsold items from retailers, all priced at significant discounts. This Redditor stumbled upon a returned Crucial 64 GB DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM RAM kit (2x 32 GB) that lacked a price tag. At the checkout counter, the cashier was unable to determine the kit’s value, leading to a surprising outcome.
Ultimately, the cashier simply charged a mere $6.99 for the entire RAM kit, as evidenced by the receipt. For less than seven dollars, the Redditor acquired a high-capacity RAM kit for notebooks that typically retails for nearly $1000. A single Crucial 64 GB DDR5 RAM stick on Amazon costs around $600, while most 2x 32 GB DDR5 SO-DIMM kits are priced between $900 and $1100.
Found a real gem at the local liquidator store.
This item was marked as an Amazon return without a price tag. After purchasing a few other items, the cashier struggled to identify the RAM kit or its value. Eventually, they gave up trying to determine the price and settled on $6.99.
Don’t forget to explore your local liquidation stores!

The Redditor suggested checking out local liquidation stores for similar bargains, although major retailers like Walmart and Costco may also offer incredible deals. Recently, a user even managed to snag a pre-built gaming PC with impressive specs for just $1000, showcasing that great deals can be found in unexpected places. Keep an eye out for bundle deals on Newegg and Amazon, as well as ongoing promotions for Radeon RX 9070 XT.
