The Future of Gaming: Nvidia DLSS 5
Exciting news for gamers! Nvidia DLSS 5 is on the horizon, and the gaming community is buzzing with anticipation. With leaked files already circulating, modders have been hard at work testing and extending support to various GPUs and even surprising platforms like the Nintendo Switch 2. While the leaked files provide a glimpse into the future of upscaling technology, the official supported list for DLSS 5 is eagerly awaited. Let’s delve deeper into which GPUs are likely to support and excel with Nvidia DLSS 5.
Which GPUs Will Support Nvidia DLSS 5?
Thanks to leaked .dll files from NBA 2K27, we have a sneak peek into the performance and visuals offered by DLSS 5. While the technology boasts significant enhancements, it also comes with a performance toll, pushing GPUs to render and enhance frames with AI. Here are the GPUs expected to handle DLSS 5 well:
- GeForce RTX 5090
- GeForce RTX 5080
- GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
- GeForce RTX 5070
- GeForce RTX 5060 Ti
- GeForce RTX 5060
- GeForce RTX 5050
While lower-end GPUs like the RTX 5050, 5060, and 5060 Ti will officially support DLSS 5, performance in demanding AAA games may still be a question mark. On the other hand, older 40-series GPUs like the RTX 4090 and 4080 Super have shown promising unofficial support for DLSS 5, indicating a broader range of compatible hardware.
GPUs That Might Struggle with DLSS 5
Despite the excitement surrounding DLSS 5, not all GPUs will be able to support this cutting-edge technology. Based on leaked files, older Nvidia GPUs like the RTX 3080 faced severe performance issues with Neural Rendering, rendering games unplayable. This raises concerns about the compatibility of the following GPUs with DLSS 5:
- GeForce RTX 3090 Ti
- GeForce RTX 3090
- GeForce RTX 3080 Ti
- GeForce RTX 3080
- GeForce RTX 3070 Ti
- GeForce RTX 3070
- GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
- GeForce RTX 3060
- GeForce RTX 3050
- RTX 2080 Ti
- RTX 2080 Super
- RTX 2080
- RTX 2070 Super
- RTX 2070
- RTX 2060 Super
- RTX 2060
DLSS 5 leverages the AI capabilities of the latest GPUs, leaving older models lacking in AI processing power. As a result, the enhanced image quality offered by DLSS 5 remains exclusive to users with newer and more powerful graphics cards.
