Red Bull recently announced the launch of the Wings Cup, a new global EA SPORTS FC 27 tournament that offers UK players the opportunity to compete for a chance to reach the World Final in Miami in January 2027. The competition begins on September 27th, with various pathways available to enter the tournament, culminating in a UK National Final at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London on November 14th.
Leading the charge in the UK campaign are Red Bull Player Angry Ginge and EA SPORTS FC esports star Tekkz, a 5-time FUT champion, as well as an ECL and E Prem winner. Expressing his excitement for the Red Bull event, Angry Ginge stated: “This is a unique opportunity to engage with the tournament in a whole new way, allowing anyone to participate and vie for the chance to compete in Miami.”
Qualifying for the Red Bull Wings Miami event
Players can qualify through three different routes starting from September 27th. The PlayStation Tournament Online Qualifiers will run until November 1st, while the University Qualifiers will continue until November 7th. Additionally, there will be other Red Bull Wings Cup live events happening across the UK during the competition period.
Players who advance from the PlayStation Open Qualifiers and live events will then move on to the FACEIT Closed Qualifiers. This phase will feature a single-elimination bracket hosted on FACEIT, where players will compete in a match-by-match format. Six finalists will emerge from this stage to compete at the UK National Final on November 14th at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London. The winner of the National Final will earn a spot at the Miami World Final in January.
Special Limited Edition Red Bull Wings Cup cans will be available in stores starting from September 1st. Each can will contain a QR code and unique tab code that can be redeemed for 250 EA SPORTS FC 27 Season Points, an exclusive Red Bull Wings Cup Ultimate Team Kit, and a Red Bull Wings Cup Loan Player Item. Players can start preparing their Ultimate Teams from September 18th in preparation for the tournament.
It’s worth noting that EA FC 27 will officially launch on September 25th, with early access available from September 18th. The additional week could prove crucial, especially with other EA FC Pro London tournaments scheduled for November. For casual players, there’s no need to rush into buying the game a week early.
