TJ Sports, the operator of China’s League of Legends esports, has made a significant decision by banning TOP Esports (TES) player Yang “Naiyou” Zijian for life from all Tencent, Riot Games, and TJ Sports competitions and related non-competitive events. This action comes after investigations revealed that Zijian was involved in match-fixing on multiple occasions.
A reliable source informed The Esports Advocate that Zijian had a history of match-fixing during his time in China’s League of Legends Development League (LDL). Bookmakers allegedly used this information to manipulate him, threatening to expose his past actions unless he cooperated.
TOP Esports has responded by terminating Zijian’s contract and ensuring that they will not work with him again in the future. The organization has also decided to withhold any remaining salary and prize money, reserving the right to pursue damages for breach of contract and associated financial losses.
Zijian initially joined TES in 2021 as a youth training player for the LDL team before being promoted to the LPL roster in November 2025.
While TJ Sports did not impose a fine on TES, it did issue a formal warning to the organization. TJ Sports commended TES for promptly reporting the incident and providing crucial evidence but highlighted significant oversights in the team’s player management practices that allowed Zijian’s misconduct to go undetected.
This incident mirrors a similar case from 2020 involving the former LPL organization Rogue Warriors (RW), which faced a fine of ¥3 million RMB ($434,062 USD) after player Wang “Weiyan” Xiang was found guilty of match-fixing during LPL competitions.
