Gamecity Hamburg has revealed that the second round of funding for prototypes will be available this September. Studios, founders, and start-ups can apply for up to €80,000 in non-repayable funding from September 4 to 24, with a total of €180,000 up for grabs.
Prototypes showing “compelling market potential” are eligible for consideration. The awarding committee for this round welcomes two new members: Nora Klutzny from Off the Beaten Track and Paul Taaks from Overhype Studios.
Other members of the committee include Dennis Schoubye from Gamecity Hamburg, Nina Müller from Goodgame Studios, and Valentina Birke from Indie Arena Booth/Super Crowd Entertainment.
Dennis Schoubye expressed his excitement about supporting game projects in Hamburg through this funding round. He also mentioned the valuable market expertise that Nora Klutzny and Paul Taaks bring to the selection process.
In earlier news, Gamecity Hamburg announced the recipients of the first round of funding. Five games were awarded grants, including Manor Cartographer by Pipapo Games and Odem by Odd Zeroes (€80,000 each), Welken by Studio Gutheil (€60,000), Ungradable: Twisted Card Grading by Chasmic Drop Studio (€48,000), and Wrong Horse by Bird Outside Studio (€40,000).
