Griffin Gaming Partners has introduced a new venture in collaboration with Entertainment 360, a talent management and production company, to support the adaptation of games into films and television shows.
This new company, named HITpoint Entertainment, aims to leverage Griffin’s connections with game developers and publishers along with Entertainment 360’s successful track record in producing IP-driven franchises.
According to the firms, HITpoint will not only create opportunities for their clients but also explore collaborations with various creative individuals in the industry to match each game property with the most suitable filmmakers, actors, and studio partners for its screen adaptation.
The key focus for HITpoint will be to involve game creators closely throughout the entire development and production process, ensuring their creative vision is preserved while working with top writers, filmmakers, actors, and producers.
Peter Levin, co-founder and managing director at Griffin, has previously invested in Amazon’s Fallout TV series, while Entertainment 360’s clients are currently engaged in the live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda.
Levin emphasized the importance of understanding the creativity and passion that game developers bring to their work when successfully adapting video games into film and television content.
According to Entertainment 360, HITpoint will bring a Hollywood-style infrastructure for identifying and developing gaming IP, focusing on both major franchises and independent games, with support from Griffin’s $100 million indie fund led by Hooded Horse CEO Tim Bender.
Nick Tuosto, co-founder and managing director at Griffin, elaborated on the Special Opportunities Fund’s strategy to provide capital and support to independent studios for launching successful games, while also exploring the potential for expanding these intellectual properties into other formats and mediums.
