T1 wrapped up the regular season of the 2024 LCK Spring Split with a dominant 2-0 win against DRX, securing the second spot in the season standings. This victory propels T1 directly into the second round of the playoffs. Following the match, head coach Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun and bot laner Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong sat down with the media for an interview.

What are your thoughts on finishing second in the regular season?

kkOma: We managed to secure second place in the regular season with a win today. I am pleased with our performance and will now shift our focus towards preparing for the playoffs.

Gumayusi: This was a crucial game for securing our second-place finish and boosting our momentum heading into the playoffs, so I am delighted with our 2-0 victory.

As you have some time before your first playoff match in round 2, what areas do you plan to work on?

kkOma: We will analyze our past losses and make necessary preparations for the playoffs. Since there will be a patch change for the playoffs, we also aim to adjust our strategies accordingly. Proper management of our condition is vital, so we will ensure to prioritize it.

Gumayusi: Our focus will be on maintaining our condition, enhancing our game vision, and practicing teamfight mechanics.

How do you feel about the playoffs being on patch 14.6?

kkOma: Personally, I see this as a positive change. I believe Faker excels as an Azir player, and it’s advantageous that the global ban on Azir has been lifted. Even if our opponents utilize Azir, we are confident in our ability to face it.

Gumayusi: There isn’t a particular meta that works in our favor or against us. With crit-based marksmen receiving buffs, focusing on improving our team fighting should lead to a strong performance.

T1 has been significantly impacted by DDoS attacks.

kkOma: Personally, I believe that T1 has been the primary target of DDoS attacks. These attacks are criminal in nature and disrupt our practice sessions, even when we are not streaming. It’s incredibly frustrating not being able to engage in solo queue. It’s a regrettable situation.

Gumayusi: It appears that those behind DDoS attacks seek attention, and they choose to target T1 due to its popularity and reputation. It’s disheartening when these attacks disrupt our practice routine. I hope we can prepare for the playoffs without any such interruptions.

Faker celebrated his 11th anniversary.

Gumayusi: I find Faker’s dedication to self-management truly admirable, and maintaining a mindset of enjoying the game seems to be a key factor in his longevity.

kkOma: Consistency is the secret to Faker’s success. He remains a player who has stayed true to himself throughout the years.

Any final remarks?

kkOma: I am always grateful to the fans for their support. I commend the players for their hard work in the face of challenges, as well as the staff for their unwavering support. We will give our all in the upcoming matches.

Gumayusi: I believe the fans’ ultimate desire is for us to clinch the championship, and I am fully committed to working towards that goal.
