Wanted Goons has officially filled their vacant roster spot, announcing on Monday 5 October that Lucas “LUKE4k” Mizumoto has joined the team as their in-game leader (IGL). This signing comes a month after Kevin “Magic” Simpson’s departure from the North American side, as reported by Dust2.us.
The addition of LUKE4k is not a new one. He previously played for Outfit 49 and had a stint with Wanted Goons back in March during the ESL Challenger League Season 51 second cup. What started as a temporary arrangement has now turned into a permanent position on the team’s roster.
LUKE4k’s 2026 Journey
LUKE4k’s competitive activity in 2026 has been limited, with only 20 maps played so far. His most recent match recorded on HLTV dates back to March when he participated in the second PGL Astana 2026 North America Open Qualifier with a mixteam.
The gap in his competitive play can be attributed to a trip to Japan earlier in the year. Despite the break, LUKE4k did compete for dice in ESEA Open during Seasons 9 and 10, as well as in ESEA Advanced, although those teams did not achieve notable results to be featured on HLTV.
Balancing Act with Fisher College
In addition to his esports commitments, LUKE4k has recently enrolled at Fisher College, where he will also be part of the college’s CS2 team. This dual commitment is not expected to create scheduling conflicts, as Fisher College’s focus this semester is on collegiate competitions, leaving room for LUKE4k to continue his work with Wanted Goons in ESL’s open circuit.
It’s not uncommon in North America for players to juggle college esports and open-circuit team responsibilities, given the growth of collegiate programs in the tier 3 scene. For Wanted Goons, the challenge lies in how quickly LUKE4k, with limited recent match experience, can adapt to his role as an in-game leader, especially with upcoming fixtures just days after his signing.
Upcoming ESL Challenger League Season 52 Cup 3 on 7 October
The team’s first test with the complete roster and LUKE4k as IGL will come in the third cup of ESL Challenger League Season 52, commencing on Wednesday 7 October. This will mark LUKE4k’s official return to competition since his stand-in role with Wanted Goons back in March.
