Luminosity has successfully secured a spot in the playoffs at Logitech G Play Connect after completing the Bo1 group stage with a 3-2 record, as reported by Dust2.us. The journey included a decisive victory over Ninjas in Pyjamas that resolved a three-way battle for the final qualifying position.
The day began on a rough note for the team. Luminosity suffered a 13-7 defeat to GamerLegion on Nuke in their opener, but quickly bounced back with a 13-9 win over Metizport on Mirage. A close 11-13 loss to group leaders B8 on Dust2 followed, before Luminosity finished strong with a dominant 13-4 victory over M80 on Ancient and a tense 13-11 win against NIP, also on Ancient.
The outcome of the final match against NIP proved to be crucial. Without this victory, there would have been a tie between Luminosity, NIP, and GamerLegion for the remaining playoffs spot, a tie that NIP would have ultimately won. HLTV confirms that both Liquid and NIP have been eliminated as the Play Connect event progresses to the knockout stage, marking NIP’s exit from the Polish LAN.
This result marks a significant turnaround for Luminosity, who have faced challenges since transitioning into Counter-Strike 2 but recently achieved a second-place finish at Roman Imperium Cup VIII. Aleks ‘Rainwaker’ Petrov, formerly of Liquid, showcased an impressive 1.22 rating across the five maps, with Aurélien ‘afro’ Drapier closely backing him up with a 1.19 rating over the same matches.
